SECURITY OPERATIONS

At Northwest Suburban Tactical Training Center we define Security Operations as a process that consists of five distinct challenges. Within these challenges are real people doing the job.

That’s where we come in. Our team of specialists are well versed and efficient in developing, implementing, and executing the following processes in performing Security Operations for your project.

Challenge 1. Identification of Critical Information. The identification of critical information, (information that is vitally needed by an adversary). This aspect of Operational Security is essential in that it focuses the remainder of the process on protecting vital information, rather than attempting to protect all classified or sensitive unclassified information. It provides maintenance on all relevant information and redirects the team’s efforts towards its value.

Challenge 2. Analysis of Threats. This action involves the research and analysis of intelligence, counterintelligence, and open source information. Why? So as to identify who likely adversaries are. Northwest Suburban Tactical Training Center resources will serve in providing tactically and technically proficient resources in the analysis of threat data, so that what may seem irrelevant, unreliable, or worse, unrelated, is properly assessed and passed forward in order that appropriate action is taken.

Challenge 3. Analysis of Vulnerabilities. This involves examining each aspect of the planned operation to identify indicators that could reveal critical information. Our analyst’s then further compare those indicators with the adversary’s intelligence collection capabilities (ITC) we identified in the previous, Analysis of Threats process. Once we know where an adversary can operate, we move to make recommendations on how to strengthen those areas.

Challenge 4. Assessment of Risk. Northwest Suburban Tactical Training Center personnel pride themselves on their ability to work seamlessly with organizations tasked with Security objectives. That’s where our diverse experience and training come in play. The Assessment of Risk is an intensive activity performed by a multidisciplined team of experts. After we analyze the vulnerabilities identified in the previous action and identify possible security measures for each vulnerability, we consult with our clients command staff in identifying and selecting specific measures for execution.

Challenge 5. Application of Appropriate Measures. The last step in the 5 Challenges of Operational Security is the action of implementing the measures selected in the Assessment of Risk action or, in the case of planned future operations and activities, the inclusion of these measures in ongoing plans for the over-all operational security of the project. In fact, these assessments are essential for identifying requirements for additional measures and for making necessary changes in existing measures.
